Prayer to let go

O Lord I feel the time is right
To simply let you know
I’ve come to the conclusion
That I’m ready to let go
I thought that I’d found love, Lord
You know I’ve prayed so long
but once again Lord God
I find that I am wrong
Great is the man that I adore
And boy does he love You
The only problem Lord,
is that he doesn’t love me too
Greatly do I admire him
his do I long to be
but this just simply hurts
because he doesn’t long for me
I’ve spent enough time hoping
in what really wasn’t true
So now I have but one desire
Just one thing left to do
Lord I release this love of mine
As hard as it may be
I lift his life into your hands,
From my heart he is free
I pray that he finds joy
O Lord, no matter where he goes
That peace will be with him
and in You that he grows
I give you my desires
all my hopes and all my dreams
though all of this surrendering 
is harder than it seems
Dear God give me the courage
To travel on my own
Jesus take my hand
So that I know I’m not alone
Flood my life with purpose
In all I say and all I do
So I won’t live for me
but Lord just live for you
Even if this grain of hope
be like a mustard seed
Oh may it grow so I recall
that You are all I need.
